Christmas HappeningsYour Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce has been making a list and checking it twice with events and activities for the holiday season. The season will kick off on November 17th with Port Elgin Shoppers Night and a Tree Lighting Ceremony in Coulter Parkette at the intersection of Green and Goderich Streets at 6:30 p.m. Check out the incredible sales and rejoice with some Christmas Carols, while we light the Community Christmas Tree.
One week later, on November 24, 2011 , head on out for another night of great sales and Christmas shopping with Southampton Sparkles . This shopping evening will kick off with Southampton's Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Olde Town Hall on the corner of Highway 21 and High Street at 6:30 p.m. What would Christmas be without our traditional Santa Claus Parades . Young and old can enjoy Santa returning to Saugeen Shores, first in Port Elgin on November 26, 2011 at 7 p.m. and then again in Southampton on December 2, 2011, at 7 p.m. If you wish to enter a float, please contact the Chamber office for registration details. The Shop, Dine and Win Passport Promotion will also begin on November 17th. Over $4000 in gift certificates and Chamber Christmas Dollars is up for grabs and it's simple to win your share! Simply, obtain your passport from any of the 60 participating merchants in Saugeen Shores and start collecting your stamps. After obtaining 6 stamps from at least 6 different merchants, drop off your completed passport at one of the listed drop-off locations and wait for your phone to ring. The early bird draw will be held on December 2nd , where 15 names will be drawn and will split $1500.00 worth of participating merchant gift certificates. A second draw will be made on December 9th when 20 names will be selected to split $1000.00 in Chamber Christmas Dollars which are only redeemable at participating merchants of this promotion. The final draw will be made on December 16th , when 8 names will be drawn and will share winnings of $1600.00 in Chamber Christmas Dollars, redeemable at participating merchants. Remember the last day to gather stamps will be December 15, 2011. A list of participating merchants can be found at the end of this article.
