For those who are avid readers, you will find just what you want at the Port Elgin and Southampton Libraries. Built in 1908, the Port Elgin Library is one of a decreasing number of Carnegie Libraries and is a prominent landmark of the Town. The Port Elgin Library has been recently upgraded while maintaining much of its original architecture, allowing for increased accessibility.
Both libraries offer a large variety of books in both hardcover and soft cover. There are also magazines, newspapers, videos, DVDs, puzzles, public access computers and wireless internet access. Photocopying and fax machines are offered in Southampton. Port Elgin offers photocopying. They have a variety of programs open to the public, like making crafts, story times and more!
