By-law Enforcement is responsible for enforcing Municipal By-laws to ensure a safe, quiet and enjoyable community for all residents. We are also here as a resource if you have questions or concerns relating to By-laws or other enforcement issues.

Our By-law Enforcement Officer investigates noise complaints, property standards issues, littering and dumping, parking and other matters concerning the Town of Saugeen Shores.

By-law Infractions

Payment for By-law infractions and tickets can be made in person at the Saugeen Shores Police Station, 620 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by:

  • Cash
  • Cheque or Money Order payable to "Town of Saugeen Shores"
  • Debit
  • Visa or MasterCard

Payment after normal business hours can be made by Cheque or Money Order (please do not leave cash!):

  1. Drop ticket and payment into our after-hours envelope drop slot at the Town Office, 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin
  2. Mail to Saugeen Shores Police Service, Box 1269, Port Elgin, ON N0H 2C0

How to Make an Inquiry or Complaint

Please Contact Us at the municipal office at (519) 832-2008.

Please ensure that you include your name, address and telephone number. Complaints without this information will not be investigated. The By-law Enforcement Officer requires contact information for follow-up or, depending on the nature of the offence, to provide evidence and/or to appear as a witness in any court proceeding pertaining to the complaint made. Your information will be kept confidential.

If immediate assistance is required outside of our regular hours, please contact Saugeen Shores Police Service at 519-832-2500 (non-emergencies only).
