Cat Licencing

Contact Us

All cats, excluding cats in the Agriculture Zones, must be registered with Saugeen Shores. A cat tag must be affixed to the cat's collar at all times. If you get a new cat please come into the Municipal Office to register your cat and to purchase a tag for a fee. If your cat is already registered with us, commencing January 2016 you will receive an invoice and a permanent cat tag in the mail.  In subsequent years, you will receive an invoice only.  Should you require a replacement tag, they are available at the municipal office.

Cats with micro-chips are registered with the Town for a one-time fee and receive one tag.

It is your responsibility to notify us if there is any change to your pet's information.

It is against the Animal Control By-law to allow your cat to run freely off your property unless the owner of the property has given you permission.

Lost Cats

Please call the Southampton Pet Hospital at 519-797-2960 and the Animal Control Officer at 519-832-3470 immediately if your cat is missing. Cats that are picked up by Animal Control Officers are taken to the Southampton Pet Hospital.
