Let us help you publicize your event through our free online calendar of events. We offer this listing as a free service for people having events within Saugeen Shores and also for major regional events. To be considered, please complete an online form using the button at the bottom of this page.
All appropriate events that meet criteria (please read criteria below) will be entered into the Saugeen Shores tourism website (after processing and activation) at the discretion of the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce Tourism Staff. The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to edit and/or refuse any events submitted.
The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce may also opt to use this event information while compiling their events readings for 98 The Beach and/or for the Saugeen Shores Visitor Guide (if your events listing is processed and posted by our press deadline) and/or for their event listings handouts and postings at the Port Elgin Tourist Information Office and Southampton Visitors' Centre. By submitting events online, consent for these publications is implied. Should the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce opt to use your information for these purposes, there would be no cost to you for this additional promotion of your event.
General Criteria
- Events must be submitted through the online Events submission form
- Only one event may be submitted per form
- The event must be an event that people can physically attend and the event must be open to the general public
- The event must be run by a non-profit or a charitable group/club/organization or be an event that is offered at no cost to the public or be a fundraiser type event or be an event that is donating the proceeds to a non-profit type group or charitable organization
- Event dates must be final; tentative dates are not acceptable
- Descriptions must be in sentence form. There is a short description and a long description box to fill in. Please remember to be brief!
- Ideally events should be submitted at least three weeks prior to the event to ensure enough time is given to staff to process and post it and to ensure adequate notice of the event to the public
- Cancellations and/or changes must be submitted at least 1 week in advance of event occurrence
Content Criteria
- Topic: The event content must be directly related to the event and must not contain any commercial advertising, religious or political editorials, or solicitations. Messages must be free of slander, obscenities, and other material that may be considered unlawful
- Content: Information should be concise and all entries must include a date, time, location, full contact information, and brief description of the event.
- Format: Content should be sent using plain text only. Do not include graphics or formatting such as bolded text, underlined text, italics, capital letters (however, acronyms are acceptable), fancy fonts and colours. Messages may contain links to appropriate web pages, but cannot contain attachments.
- Style: All submissions should be checked (by the person submitting the information) for spelling, grammar and accuracy of names, titles, dates, contact information, etc. Submissions may be modified during processing, but not fact checked for accuracy of names, phone numbers, e-mail, web addresses, or related information
