Clean Sweep Week

Clean Sweep Week throughout Saugeen Shores, April 20 – 27th was indeed successful!  In one week of clean up, we collected 53 bags of garbage and 11 bags of recycling - off the streets, fields, water access points through Saugeen Shores.

The Town of Saugeen Shores wants to say “Thank You” to the 102 volunteers that pitched in to help clean up our community. Without the help of the these community members the events would not be successful: Chantry Island Chambettes, 2nd Port Elgin Guides, Port Elgin Scouting,  Wayne and Renee Wilson, The Propeller Club, Southampton Chiropractic Clinic, Port Elgin Beach Rejuvenation Group, The Port Elgin Beachers Association, The Port Elgin Volleyball Club, Thorncrest Outfitters and The Southampton Residents Association.

Even with all of the help, we still have lots of green space that could use some clean up – call the Town office at 519-832-2008 to receive your “Pitch-In Kit”. The Town will provide garbage bags/gloves and will arrange pick up of the bags at designated areas. Call today for details!
