The Station
On the Port Elgin main beach The Station offers a replica half scale 1836 American Steam Train.
One of only a few in Canada, this miniature steam engine travels a scenic tour around Port Elgin's waterfront taking in the harbour and Northshore Park.
Originally built in 1978 in Port Elgin by Schlenker & Sons for Old Castel Farm south of Windsor, the propane fired 24-gauge steam driven engine returned home in 1983 and continues to be a popular attraction with little ones and train enthusiasts.
The train runs Tuesdays to Sundays in the summer at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm. Tickets cost $5 for children and $5.50 for adults. The train also usually runs weekends in September weather permitting.
The Station also offers summer beach food, assorted merchandise and ever popular mini golf.
