TOWN RELEASES POSITIVE ANNUAL WATER REPORT

Saugeen Shores, ON; The Town of Saugeen Shores has released the 2018 Annual Water Report. The report includes the previously announced 100% inspection rating from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). The inspection, completed in October, found zero instances of non-compliance and provided a perfect score to the municipal drinking water.

“The Town and OCWA are proud of our drinking water,” says Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “These partners have worked hard to ensure we have the best practices and processes in place to achieve this outstanding rating.”

Saugeen Shores Council voted in December to renew the contract with Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) who is responsible for maintaining and operating the municipality's water systems.

The report also summarizes quantities and flow rates of water supplied, and a comparison of average and monthly flows to the approved capacity of the Treatment Plant. The 2019 budget has funding for replacement and installations of new membrane modules to increase the capacity of the plant.

The reports will be posted on the Town’s website and be available for viewing at the municipal office.
