Spring and Summer 2025 Aquatic Programs

  • Spring and summer aquatic programs open for viewing online

Kamps for Kids' Specialty Summer Camps

Kamps for Kids specialty summer camps are half-day, weeklong programs that run from 9am to 12pm. Programs are based out of the Southampton Coliseum, Jubilee Park, and North Shore Park (August 19 to 23). 

Camps are for ages 4 to 12 years. Fee: $200 per week.

July 7 to 11, Colour Me Crazy!

Join us for a week of all colours and rainbows! We can’t wait to explore creativity with all the colours and sparkles. This week includes tie-dying, colouring, painting, crafting with plenty of colourful materials and plenty of colourful games.

July 14 to 18, Adventure Unlimited

This program will spark your kid's sense of adventure! Campers will take part in team challenges, obstacle courses, relay races, scavenger hunts, jump rope games and so much more. Join us for an adventure-filled week!

July 21 to 25, Fun and Fitness

Let’s get active! Kids will be engaged in a fun, high energy week emphasizing the importance of having fun! We will focus on fundamental movement skills and developing athletic skills through fun and playful activities.

July 28 to August 1, Wet and Wild!

There is no better way to embrace the heat of a summer day than a little water play! Get ready for some fun in the sun with some refreshing water activities and games, as well as the splash pad! Bathing suits, towels and sunscreen required! Pick up at Coliseum.

August 11 to 15, Down to a Science

This program will spark your kid’s naturally curious mind while inspiring a love for science! During this week we will be doing all things science experimenting, exploring, observing and recording our findings.

August 18 to 22, The Great Outdoors

Young nature enthusiasts will spend the week exploring and uncovering the beauty and mysteries of our great outdoors through different daily adventures! Each day will be filled with games, exploratory hikes, eco activities and crafts. Come explore with us!

2025 Ball Hockey Season

The 2025 ball hockey season opens for registration December 11, 2024 at 6am online and 8:30am in-person. Programs are open for viewing online. Add programs to your wish list for easy check-out on December 11. Register early to avoid a wait list. Close to 400 kids participated in 2024.

This is a co-ed program that focuses on skill development and game play for ages 3 up to 16.

Benefits of Playing Ball Hockey

  • Build stick-handling, passing and shooting skills
  • Improve coordination and endurance

Program Details

The 2025 season runs from April 14 to June 9, 1 night per week for 7-weeks.  There is no programming on April 28, 29 and May 19.

  • Fee: $113 per player, includes team shirt and award
  • Registration: Online starting December 11 at 6am. Registration closes March 1 or when the Division is full.
  • Location: Southampton Coliseum, (26 Albert Street, Southampton)
  • Required equipment: Safety approved helmet with cage, hockey stick and gloves, shin guards (soccer style) and indoor running shoes. A jock or jill is recommended.

Adult Beginner Hockey Programs

Our Adult Beginner Hockey programs are underway. Programs are open for registration online. Programming takes place Sundays at the Southampton Coliseum.

Adult Agility Skating Sessions: Winter 2025

Looking to build on your basic skating skills? This 30-minute agility skating skills session is led by Bill Buckton, and will help folks become stronger, more confident skaters.

Improve your skills, and learn to stop, skate backward, crossover and increase speed. The session is planned before Adult Beginner Hockey for individuals looking to improve skating, and to build on their hockey basics. Folks can participate in both programs or choose to participate in one or the other.

  • Winter 2025 session (activity number 24353): Sundays, February 16 to March 9, 7:30 to 8am

Adult Beginner Pick-Up Hockey (Shinny): Fall and Winter

This pick-up shinny hockey program is for adults who are at the beginner level of playing. Register online in advance (until 4pm the Friday before), or pay at the door when you arrive.

Do you have the basic skills to play organized hockey and would like to further your skills to improve your game? This is a great next step for those that have participated in our adult beginner hockey programs with Bill Buckton.

This drop-in program provides the opportunity to get on the ice with others of the same basic skill level. There is no formal instruction. Co-ed for ages 16 years and older.

Pick-Up Hockey Dates

  • Winter pick-up dates: February 16, 23, March 2 and 9, from 8 to 8:50am
  • Drop-in fee: $10 (HST included).
  • Register online by 4pm the Friday before, or pay cash at the door when you arrive

Kids in the Kitchen, April 9, 16, 23

Cooking with kids at any age can be fun! Children will learn how to cook simple, inexpensive, tasty and healthy meals and snacks. Special guests will talk about healthy eating, and teach us how to make healthy recipes. Activity number: 24275

Ages: 7 to 12 years, Fee: $90, Location: The Plex

School Year Day Camps

Kamps for Kids' full-day (9am-4pm) camps offer fun, interactive days that keep kids 4 to 12 years active, creative and engaged while making new friends. Camps include a pizza lunch on PA days. Camps operate in the Green Room at the Southampton Coliseum.

Community Sports and Recreation

The Town operates recreational facilities that community groups rent or lease (long-term) including these minor sports programs:

Program Policies

Programs and Events Photo Consent

Participants can consent or not consent when registering for programs and events online.

I am a consenting adult/legal guardian and hereby authorize the Town of Saugeen Shores to use my and or my dependent(s) name and or image in its public relations and communication materials. I understand that the photograph(s) taken within a year from today’s date during Town programs, events or in Town facilities may be used in a publication, print advertisement, direct-mail pieces, electronic media (e.g., video, website, social media, etc.) or other form of communication.

In giving my consent, I hereby release and hold harmless the Town of Saugeen Shores and their agents, employees, officials, representatives and contractors from any and all responsibility or liability for damage of any kind suffered in any manner whatsoever. I hereby relinquish any and all personal or proprietary rights I may have in connection with such use. I understand that I will receive no compensation should any photograph of me and or my dependents be used.

Refund Policy

The refund policy applies to dryland and aquatic programs operated by the Department of Community Services (Town-operated) and operated by program providers under contract with the Department of Community Services (Town-contracted). If an exception to this policy applies, it will be indicated at the time of registration.

  1. If a program is cancelled by Community Services, a full or partial refund will apply depending on number of classes attended
  2. Program fees for Town-operated and Town-contracted program, both dry-land and aquatic are refundable up to two weeks (14 days) prior to a program’s start date. A full refund, less the $20.00 administration fee will apply.
  3. No refunds will be issued within two weeks (14 days) of a program start date except for COVID-19 related and medical reasons, or if a vacancy can be filled through the waiting list.
  4. For program withdrawal during programs due to COVID-19 related or medical reasons, the participant will be refunded for number of classes remaining, less the $20 administration fee.
  5. For Town-operated programs, if a refund credit is left on account for future use, the administration fee is not charged. This does not apply for Town-contracted programs.

Recreation Waiver

Participants are required to agree to the recreation waiver at the time of registration.

In consideration of Myself, Son, Daughter or Ward being admitted into the programs operated by any department falling under the auspices of the Department of Community Services, I hereby release the Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores from all claims for damages incurred from any accident or injury which is caused by or arises from participation of the applicant herein, during any program, or in any facility on any location, where a program is being conducted. I hereby give permission for the person in charge, to enact the municipal emergency action procedure, including activating the community emergency system, in the event of an accident involving the above-mentioned participant.
