Take a look at how some of our local businesses are adapting and innovating during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Casual Corners and Mensch

"We at Casual Corners and Mensch, have always prided ourselves on providing the best experience for our customers. When things abruptly changed, we knew we needed to act quickly and figure out a way that we could still connect with our shoppers and provide them with the items they normally seek from us. We got innovative, jumped to our feet and decided to start doing lives and showcase items from our shops while encouraging feedback from our customers. This allowed us to connect directly and get information out quickly to our customers in a fun, light manner.

We also knew that people wanted to shop our items online and knowing the extensive time that could take for us to set that up an ecommerce site we instead were able to come up with two new Instagram accounts: @shopcasualcornerspe and @shopmenschclothing. These sites have given us the opportunity to list items and their prices as well as directly answer questions and pull orders together for our customers quickly. We also can arrange curbside pickups, local porch deliveries and shipping. We have had an incredibly positive response especially from our lives. People say they enjoy seeing our faces and connecting with us! I believe people want to connect more then ever as we continue to practice social distancing.

We have been in business for 42 years and have created so many wonderful relationships with our customers that it truly feels like chatting with family. It fills our hearts to know our customers want to connect. We are so grateful to them for their continued support in everything they've done for us. Whether it's making a purchase, sharing our posts or simply messaging us some encouraging words. All these things are what continue to fuel us to continue on. Thank you as we continue to be #SaugeenShoresStrong."

HAIR Southampton

HAIR Southampton"As we navigate through Phase 3 of COVID-19, we are still operating by appointment only. We have elected to keep our doors locked as we are limited on the number of guests in our space, also we require all guests to wear a mask from the time they enter the salon and for the duration of their appointment. We are selling products over the counter to customers that come to the door, prepaying is also an option. They are welcome to come inside for the transaction, but we still require them to wear a mask while inside. We are being vigilant in our 15-minute sanitization break between clients, which we realize makes our appointment wait times longer, but have this in place for the safety of our clients and employees."
