Blue box collection schedule

View the Blue Box Collection Schedule to find out when you should place your blue box at your curb. Please have your blue box ready by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.

Cardboard box recycling depots

You can recycle flattened cardboard boxes at the following cardboard recycling depots:

  • Port Elgin Sewage Treatment Plant - 815 Lehnen St.
  • Public Works Garage - 339 Concession 6
  • Southampton Landfill - 126 Concession 14

Purchasing blue boxes

We sell blue boxes at our municipal office for $8.28 each.

Recycling used household items

Recycle used household items at the Saugeen Shores Recycle House, located at the Southampton Landfill. We accept the following items:

  • Dressers
  • Bed frames
  • Tables and end tables
  • Desks
  • Chairs
  • Doors
  • Kitchen items
  • Small appliances
  • Tools

We do not accept:

  • Fabric or leather furniture (such as couches or loveseats)
  • Electronics (such as televisions or computers)
  • Clothing
  • Bedding
  • Blinds
  • Curtains
  • Windows
  • Toilets
  • Bathtubs

Leaf and yard waste

You can dispose of your leaf and yard waste at the Southampton Compost Site, located on Concession 14 beside the Landfill.
