Charbonneau Family Donation Kicks Off Commemorative Brick Campaign for AWC
Today, in honour of Wes and Glenna Chalmers, the Charbonneau family made a $25,000 donation to Saugeen Shore’s Aquatic and Wellness Centre “Just Add Water” fundraiser, marking the launch of the Commemorative Brick Campaign.
“My parents and I are pleased to support the Aquatics and Wellness Centre project with this donation,” said Mayor Charbonneau. “It is a fitting tribute to my grandparents who were always community minded and ready to support a good cause. We look forward to seeing their names whenever we visit this exciting new community facility."
The Commemorative Brick Campaign provides a long-lasting, memorable way for residents and business members of the community to invest in an engraved, commemorative brick to be installed outside of the community rooms at the new Aquatic and Wellness Centre.
A commemorative brick is a unique way to:
- Honor someone special.
- Give a meaningful gift to a friend or relative.
- Celebrate a special date.
- Recognize your family, company, or a loved one.
Bricks can be purchased online or at The Town of Saugeen Shores reception desk.
The Aquatic & Wellness Centre will be a state-of-the-art facility that will house an eight-lane pool, as well as a fitness and wellness centre. It is one of the Town's biggest capital projects to date and will serve as a regional recreational hub for decades to come.
