COVID-19 state of emergency

What does life during a state of emergency look like? What steps can individuals take to help prevent the spread of COVID-19?

View our helpful guide to the changes in how we deliver municipal services during this time.

A state of emergency means:

  • The Town has access to additional resources from county, provincial and federal governments
  • We’re focusing on delivering essential services during this time

What can you do?

  • Stay home: exercise at home or outside; work from home if possible
  • Essential outings only: picking up groceries, medication, etc., and reporting to work in one of the essential services
  • Isolate for 14 days: if you’re feeling unwell or have returned home from travelling
  • Wash your hands: wash your hands often and for at least 20 seconds; avoid touching your face
  • Practice physical distancing: avoid common greetings and keep a distance of at least two metres from people not in your immediate family.
