Last Call for Summer Company Applications
Do you know a student between the ages of 15 and 29 with a great business idea? The Summer Company program helps students start and run their own businesses. As a Summer Company entrepreneur, participants receive hands-on business mentoring from local business leaders and up to $3,000 to make their dream job a reality.
The program is accepting applications until May 31, 2022.

2022 Patio Season & Spruce the Bruce
Patio season has officially begun in Saugeen Shores.
Local restaurant and retail businesses looking to submit Patio Applications for setting up on municipal land for the season (April 1 – October 30) can reach out to heather.hyde@saugeenshores.ca.
Please note that patio applications are only required for patios installed on municipal land. Patios on private property are not required to submit an application.
Patio funding for 2022 will once again be available through the Spruce the Bruce grant program launching May 31, 2022.
Additionally, Spruce the Bruce funding is available for:
- Façade Building Improvements
- Fascia Signage
- Perpendicular Signage
- Community Marketing
- Streetscape Beautification
- Community Signage
- Destination Infrastructure and active Transportation
- Patio Installation

Propel Student Work Placement Program
Aimed squarely at the tourism and hospitality sector, the Propel Student Work Placement Program is helping the hardest-hit sector recover from the devastating impacts of the pandemic.
Funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program, Propel offers post-secondary students opportunities to develop the work-ready skills required to secure meaningful employment upon graduation.
Qualifying employers are provided with a wage subsidy for each qualifying student hired through the program.
