Proof of Vaccination Coming September 22

The government of Ontario recently released the regulations and guidance for businesses and organizations to support them in implementing proof of vaccination requirements, which take effect on September 22, 2021.

As of September 22, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access certain public settings and facilities.

Ontario is developing an enhanced vaccine certificate and verification app that will be available by October 22, 2021. For the complete News Release visit the provincial website.

My Main Street Funding

My Main Street is a $23.25-million investment by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario to help drive business to local communities in the aftermath of COVID-19. Targeted non-repayable contributions and programs will be provided across southern Ontario starting in the Fall of 2021.

Rural Economic Development (RED) Grant Now Open

Ontario’s Rural Economic Development (RED) program provides cost-share funding to support activities that create strong rural communities in Ontario, and opens doors to rural economic development through:

  • funding assistance to address barriers to economic development, better position rural communities to attract and retain jobs and investment, and enhance economic growth
  • funding to build community capacity and support for economic development in Ontario’s rural communities
  • investments in rural communities to help diversify and grow local economies – making economic growth more inclusive so Rural Ontario continues to share in the province’s economic prosperity
