Kristan Shrider to be the Town’s new Director of Community Services and Operations
Kristan Shrider is returning as an employee of the Town of Saugeen Shores as the new Director of Community Services and Operations. She is known to many in the community as a Councillor for the Port Elgin Ward, a position from which she has resigned in order to move into this role.
Ms. Shrider had previously been with the Town from 2001 to 2015 in operations, parks and facilities. Now, she will be joining the Town’s leadership team from the City of Owen Sound where she is currently the Senior Manager of Corporate and Facility Services. Before that, the Senior Manager of Property, Parks and Open Spaces.
“We’re looking forward to working with Kristan in this new capacity,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “Kristan brings a lot of local knowledge, experience and passion. She is a strategic thinker, a consummate learner and an effective leader. We’re pleased she will be using her skills from inside the organization to help us improve the quality of services we deliver to the community.”

The Director of Community Services and Operations leads all activities associated with water, wastewater, landfill, cemeteries, infrastructure maintenance, recreation facilities and programming, parks, trails, seasonal campgrounds, aquatics, beaches, waterfront, and harbour.
Ms. Shrider will start in her new position at the Town on February 14, 2022.
