
Labour Day Fireworks

A friendly reminder about using fireworks within the Town of Saugeen Shores:
- Fireworks are permitted to be sold on Labour Day and seven days prior (Monday, August 28 to Monday, September 4).
- Only people 18 years of age and older are allowed to purchase or sell fireworks.
- Fireworks can be set off on September 4 or 5 between dusk - approximately 7:55 p.m. - and 11:00 p.m.
- Fireworks can not be set off on or near sidewalks, highways, parks, or shopping plazas.
- Firecrackers are not permitted within the Town of Saugeen Shores.
- Fireworks displays within Town limits require a permit from the Fire Chief.
- Fireworks displays can not be held within 183 metres (600 ft.) of a nursing home, hospital, home of the aged, gas or flammable substance manufacturer/retailer, church, or school.
The Town of Saugeen Shores By-law No. 53-2006 regulates the usage and sale of fireworks.
