NOTICE OF INTENTION TO PASS BY-LAW
TO REMOVE HOLDING SYMBOL

Monday, September 16, 2024 at 6:30 pm

The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores intends to pass a By-law under Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1990 to remove the ‘H’ holding symbol from the subject lands shown on the attached Schedule ‘A’.

Property Owner:     Weichold Limited

Subject Lands:       PLAN 697 LOTS 1 TO 31 (Southampton Town)
Town of Saugeen Shores, Roll Number 411048000438100

In August 2021, Saugeen Shores Council adopted By-law 58-2021 to change the zoning on the subject lands from Residential First Density (R1) to Residential First Density Special Holding (R1-90-H and R1-91-H) and Environmental Protection (EP).  The holding required the development areas on the subject lands to be subject to Site Plan Control.  Changes to Section 41 of the Planning Act now exclude developments that contain no more than 10 residential units from the Site Plan Control requirements.

The removal of the ‘H’ Holding symbol will be considered by Saugeen Shores Council at the Regular Council (Planning) Meeting on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format (virtual or in-person) at the Nuclear Innovation Institute, located at 620 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin, ON  N0H 2C0.

For information on how to access or participate in the meeting, please visit the municipal website at https://www.saugeenshores.ca/en/index.aspx  under “News and Notices”.  Please contact the Town at clerk@saugeenshores.ca or 519-832-2008, extension 100 if you have any questions regarding the meeting.

Additional information relating to the amending By-law may be obtained from the Town by e-mailing candace.hamm@saugeenshores.ca or calling 519-832-2008 extension 182 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  (Monday to Friday).

The contact for the file is: Candace Hamm, Development Services Officer
