Class Environmental Assessment Study – Storm System Outlets 11, 12, 13A, 13B, and 14 Catchment Areas, Town of Saugeen Shores

The Town of Saugeen Shores invites you to attend an in-person Public Information Session regarding the ongoing Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for Storm System Outlets 11, 12, 13A, 13B, and 14 catchment areas.

Date: Tuesday, July 22, 2025
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (Presentation at 5:30 p.m.)
Location: Community Hall, St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 248 High Street, Southampton

Purpose of the Session:

This session will provide an overview of the project, including background information, study objectives, and preliminary findings. Town staff and consultants from Aquafor Beech Limited will be available to answer questions and gather feedback from residents and stakeholders.

Project Background:

In early 2024, the Town completed its Master Drainage Plan (MDP), which assessed current and future drainage needs and identified areas with existing challenges. Based on the MDP’s recommendations, the Town has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment in partnership with Aquafor Beech Limited to evaluate options and identify preferred solutions for the following storm system outlets:

  • Outlet 11 – Adelaide Street
  • Outlet 12 – Island Street
  • Outlet 13A – Bay Street
  • Outlet 13B – Watercourse South of Bay Street
  • Outlet 14 – Huron Street South

The study area includes municipal lands and easements within the catchment areas between High Street and South Street.

For more information on the project, visit www.engage.saugeenshores.ca/SouthAreaDrainage.
