Police Service, Southampton Rotary Ask Public for Help to Fight Homelessness

As the holiday season approaches, the Saugeen Shores Police Service and the Southampton Rotary Club asks that you remember those who may be struggling with homelessness this winter by donating to their Benevolence Fund.
Established in 2021, the Fund provides police with funds and supplies to support community members in need, including emergency accommodation for a night until other arrangements can be made. The Fund also provides for food and clothing, as well as providing police with backpacks that contain essential items such as:
- personal hygiene items,
- some items of clothing,
- a can opener,
- a water bottle,
- pen and notebook and,
- a Timmy’s card to purchase a hot meal and drink to tie people over until they can access other support
Police also have access to activity books and crafts for children who are at the police station during difficult times.
The Southampton Rotary Club has generously provided assistance to the fund again this year. However, there are still people in our community who need this help throughout the winter.
