Secure LoadResidents and visitors are reminded to secure their loads when transporting materials in a trailer or truck bed. Whether you are moving furniture or bringing a load to the landfill, it must be secure in your vehicle. Improperly secured loads are a violation of the Highway Traffic Act (Section 111.2) and can result in fines of up to $170.

The Municipal Election voting period in Saugeen Shores is now past its half-way point with voting wrapping up at 8pm on October 22. To date, approximately 23% of those on the Voters List have cast their ballots, with Southampton Ward leading the way at over 25%.
To assist voters, a Voting Help Centre has been set up at the Municipal Office (600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin). The help centre will be open Thursday and Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday (October 20-21)...

Internet and telephone voting for the 2018 Municipal Election in Saugeen Shores begins October 12 at 10am. The voting period will run until 8pm on Election Day, October 22.
Electors who are on the Voters List should have received their Voter Notification Letters in the mail. The letters provide a unique Voter ID and PIN which will be required when voting.
To vote using the internet, type the entire website address provided on the Voter Notification Letter and follow instructions...

Improvements to the North Shore Trail and Promenade at the Port Elgin Waterfront are now underway. Portions of this trail will be closed while work is completed over the next few weeks. The trail through North Shore Park will be repaved and a new section of trail will be added around the perimeter of the North harbour (boat launch) parking lot. The Promenade near the Beach House washroom will also be extended as part of this project. Please avoid this area and respect closure...
