Town Launches Water Safety Initiative

The Town wants the public to enjoy its beaches and lakefront safely. That’s why it is helping businesses and the public educate themselves on water safety and safe boating practices.
The Town has created rack cards containing tips on:
- Swimming
- Safe boating practices
- Waterfront safety
- Lifesaving stations
These rack cards are available free to any businesses, including cottage parks, campgrounds, short-term rentals, hotels/motels, and equipment rental providers. The Town will also be directly connecting with those businesses. They are also encouraged to contact the Town to request the cards.
The initiative comes just as the Town anticipates its regular surge of visitors over the Canada Day Long Weekend. The Town also plans to roll out more information and awareness initiatives during National Drowning Prevention Week, July 17-23.
