With warmer weather and summer holidays now upon us, everyone must continue to follow provincial and public health regulations at our beaches.

Town staff and police are monitoring the waterfront and will further restrict—or even close—our beaches if people aren't acting safely.

Here’s what you need to know this summer:

  • Only visit for a short time to swim or exercise and then make room for others to enjoy the beach
  • Stay at least 2 metres away from people who are not in your social circle
  • Gatherings of more than 10 are still banned by the province
  • Public washrooms are limited due to physical distancing
  • Pack in and pack out, taking garbage home with you when possible
  • Enclosed tents, BBQs, and dogs are prohibited on the beach

Saugeen Shores Police Service will continue to enforce all of these rules and regulations and will lay fines if needed.

Our waterfront is important to so many people’s physical and mental health. Together we can all enjoy our treasured beaches—because together, we are Saugeen Shores Strong.
