Special Events and Parades

In Saugeen Shores we enjoy many special events organized by community groups and volunteers within our Town each year. These events enrich the culture of our municipality, provide recreation opportunities and increase tourism, providing economic benefits to local businesses.

Special events may include parades, cultural programs, festivals, musical rock concerts, religious gatherings, block parties and community activities.

How do I apply for a Special Event Permit?

Organizations and groups planning an event in Saugeen Shores which will be held on municipally owned property are required to complete a Special Events Application.

As an event planner for your organization you are required to complete and submit the form 60 days prior to your scheduled event.

Are you planning a Parade?

If you are planning a parade, your application must include a map showing the route you plan to take. Please note that parade routes that include Highway 21 within municipal boundaries will also require approval from the Ministry of Transportation, who reserve the right to deny permission.


All applications submitted for a special event must include proof of insurance as outlined in the Application Guidelines.
