Live the life you’ve always wanted!
Practice medicine in a vibrant community on the edge of the lake. Situated on the Lake Huron shoreline, the Town of Saugeen Shores includes the communities of Port Elgin, Southampton, and Saugeen Township: a recipe for your best life. More and more young people and families are choosing Saugeen Shores, making it one of the fastest-growing communities in Ontario. Several large employers in the clean energy, education, health, tourism, and service industries have career opportunities for your partner as well.
In addition to its natural beauty, the Town provides educational, commercial, and recreational facilities and is becoming a hub for these offerings throughout Bruce County. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor options, including recreational facilities like the new Lamont Sports Park, attractions such as the Chantry Island Tour, and cultural amenities like the famous Southampton Art School & Gallery and the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre.
In 2025, the community will have a new Aquatic and Wellness Centre with a state-of-the-art eight-lane pool, a walking track, and plenty of additional space for exercise and play. Saugeen Shores has all the right ingredients for a healthy, active, and balanced life for you and your family.

What our doctors have to say...
“I chose Saugeen Shores to relocate my family and my medical practice after having spent lovely summers here. We loved the community feel, the abundance of outdoor experiences, and the proximity of life, work, and play. It wasn’t until I met a few local physicians that solidified my choice to relocate. The breadth of medical care I would be able to provide guaranteed ongoing learning and experiences. The fact this is an under-serviced area also made it a worthwhile move. I would be helping my new community! The collegiality and mutual support among the physicians and health care team at Southampton hospital provides a team approach to care, which is great.”
Dr. Cristina Musngi BScN, MD, CCFP
“Having completed medical school in Karachi, Pakistan, with a focus on rural medicine, I have always had a propensity for rural medicine. After completing my residency at Western University in the rural Petrolia site, I knew the charms of living and working in a small town. Saugeen Shores was a natural choice for my wife and I, given the picturesque natural beauty and its short distance from the ‘big cities.’ It has been a wonderful journey thus far! I do full-breadth rural family medicine, including emergency medicine, clinic practice, and hospitalist. The collegiality, hospitality, and camaraderie are amazing and are the biggest facet of working in Saugeen Shores. I know I can always count on my colleagues for help, support, and advice.”
