Site Plans
Sometimes, a Site Plan Agreement is required to develop property in the Town of Saugeen Shores. This process ensures that developers meet the standards and requirements of the Town.
The following types of developments do not require a Site Plan Agreement:
- Single detached or semi-detached dwellings
- Farm buildings and structures located in the agricultural zone
- Small enlargements or building additions.
View the Site Plan Control By-law for more details.
Application process
In order to get a Site Plan Agreement, you must complete an Application for Site Plan Approval. You can get a print version of the application form from Development Services at the Town of Saugeen Shores Offices.
Once approved, the property owner must follow the site plan and agreement terms.
In general, building permits are not issued until a Site Plan Agreement is in place.
Please follow these steps to complete the application process:
Step 1 – Pre-consultation |
Consult with Town staff before submitting an application. |
Step 2 – Submit application |
Submit a completed Application for Site Plan Approval. |
Step 3 – Town reviews application |
The Town discusses the application and suggests any changes to the site plan. |
Step 4 – Prepare detailed site plan drawings |
Based on the comments provided by the Town, prepare detailed site plan drawings and any supporting documentation required. |
Step 5 – Site Plan Agreement |
Once the detailed plans are approved, the Development Services department drafts a Site Plan Agreement. |
Step 6 – Execution of agreement |
The Town staff finalize the Site Plan Agreement and send it to you for signing. Return the completed agreement and any required payments or securities to the Town. The agreement is then put on the Council agenda for consideration and final approval. |
