Household hazardous waste is dangerous to throw in the garbage or wash down the drain. It could harm you and your family or the environment.

Hazardous Waste Days

You can dispose of hazardous waste during the Bruce County Hazardous Waste Days. Please do not dispose of commercial, agricultural, industrial, PCBs, ammunition or flares, as these will not be accepted. Only containers with a volume of 30 litres or less will be accepted.

2020 Hazardous Waste Days:

  • May 2: 429 Peel St, Southampton, 8 am-1 pm **CANCELLED**
  • August 8: 429 Peel St, Southampton, 8 am-1:30 pm
  • October 24: 429 Peel St, Southampton, 8 am-1:30 pm

Due to COVID-19 attendees must remain in their vehicle, windows closed, and waste material must be in an open trunk only for unloading. Please do not attend if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.  Due to COVID safety protocols, all items must be placed in bulk disposable containers (ie., cardboard boxes) as they will not be returned to your vehicle. Blue boxes, totes, gas cans, and other containers will not be returned.

The County of Bruce will be taking all precautions reasonable for their staff and contractor to operate this event during COVID-19. We require the residents adherence to the protocols in place to deliver this service. The County of Bruce retains the right to refuse service if protocols are not being followed.
