Home and Community Support 

Home and Community Support Services of Grey-Bruce helps support independence and enhances the quality of life for seniors, adults and their families. Their services include Day Away programs which offer respite for caregivers and an active environment for seniors, hot and cold meals through their Meal on Wheels program, and housekeeping. 

 

Senior Recreation and Leisure 

The Port Adult Recreation Centre (PARC 55+), Chantry Seniors Centre and Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) provide senior's recreation and leisure activities in Saugeen Shores. Visit our community group listing for additional clubs, groups or activities. 

Port Adult Recreation Centre (PARC 55+) organizes social and leisure activities and events for adults over 55 at varying times from Monday - Thursday. There is a nominal annual membership fee. They offer programs like: 

  • Potluck luncheons 

  • Games, including contract bridge, duplicate bridge and cribbage 

  • Line dancing 

  • Table tennis 

  • Monthly book club

The Chantry Seniors Centre organizes social and recreational activities and events for adults over 55. There is a nominal annual membership fee. They offer services like: 

  • Luncheons and potlucks 

  • Speakers and day trips 

  • Games, including bridge, euchre, shuffle board, billiards 

  • Line dancing and square dancing 

  • Arts and crafts, rug hooking 

The facility is also available for rentals.

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) provides SMART® (Seniors Maintaining Active Roles Together ®) exercise and fall prevention classes which help improve strength, balance and heart health in Port Elgin and Southampton. Class times vary by location. Pre-registration is required.
