Business Improvement Areas

Saugeen Shores has two Business Improvement Areas (BIA), the Southampton BIA and Port Elgin BIA.

Business Improvement Areas are not-for-profit organizations that help businesses in specific geographical areas grow and expand. They bring together members of our business community to promote economic development. They also support businesses in organizing, financing and making improvements to physical spaces.

The BIAs are responsible for events and promotions, streetscape and beautification, as well as being a resource for our members for current funding opportunities, advocacy with the Municipality and as part of the larger Ontario Business Improvement Area Association, with the Provincial and Federal Governments.

The Town of Saugeen Shores oversees and manages the budget of the BIAs.

The Southampton Business Improvement Area (SBIA) promotes economic development and beautification to support the Southampton business community.

Members meet at the Southampton Town Hall, 2-201 High Street, Southampton, ON N0H 2L0.
