Planning-related duties and decision-making are shared among the County, Town, Committee of Adjustment and Council.
The County administers the process for Minor Variances, Zoning By-law Amendments, Official Plan Amendments, Consents/Severances and Plans of Subdivisions and Condos.

The Town administers the process for Site Plans and Subdivision/Condominium Agreements.
The Committee of Adjustment makes decisions on Minor Variances. The Committee meets once per month to consider applications.
All other planning applications aside from Minor Variances are considered by Town Council.
