COVID-19 update
Beginning March 21, 2022 mask/face coverings are no longer required for patrons to enter indoor municipal settings, including the Centennial Pool and arenas. Patrons and employees may choose to continue wearing a mask. Patrons are encouraged to stay home when they are sick and practice frequent hand hygiene when attending facilities or programs.

Registered arena programs and ball hockey |

Programs are running as scheduled. Click links for more information and to register. Adult Beginner Hockey (Level 1)Sessions will resume in Fall 2022. We've partnered up with local hockey coach Bill Buckton to deliver this beginner program designed for adults with basic skating skills and no hockey experience. Participants will learn the fundamentals of hockey and focus on skill development over the 5-week session. Adult Beginner Hockey (Level 2)The Fall session will resume in October 2022. This program provides you the opportunity to get on the ice and play with others of the same basic skill level. The intention is for everyone to practice, play the game and continue to develop their skills. This is a great next step for those who participated in level 1of the beginner hockey program. There is limited instruction. Ball hockey (ages 3 to 14 years)This is a co-ed program that focuses on skill development and game play for ages 3 to 14. Teams play once per week, from May 9 to June 23 at the Plex in Port Elgin. View description, divisions, dates and times. Register online until divisions are full or until April 4, 2022. Program Policies
Programs and events photo consent |
Participants can consent or not consent when registering for programs and events online. I am a consenting adult/legal guardian and hereby authorize the Town of Saugeen Shores to use my and or my dependent(s) name and or image in its public relations and communication materials. I understand that the photograph(s) taken within a year from today’s date during Town programs, events or in Town facilities may be used in a publication, print advertisement, direct-mail pieces, electronic media (e.g., video, website, social media, etc.) or other form of communication. In giving my consent, I hereby release and hold harmless the Town of Saugeen Shores and their agents, employees, officials, representatives and contractors from any and all responsibility or liability for damage of any kind suffered in any manner whatsoever. I hereby relinquish any and all personal or proprietary rights I may have in connection with such use. I understand that I will receive no compensation should any photograph of me and or my dependents be used. |
Refund policy |
The refund policy applies to dryland and aquatic programs operated by the Department of Community Services (Town-operated) and operated by program providers under contract with the Department of Community Services (Town-contracted). If an exception to this policy applies, it will be indicated at the time of registration.

Recreation waiver |
Participants are required to agree to the recreation waiver at the time of registration. In consideration of Myself, Son, Daughter or Ward being admitted into the programs operated by any department falling under the auspices of the Department of Community Services, I hereby release the Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores from all claims for damages incurred from any accident or injury which is caused by or arises from participation of the applicant herein, during any program, or in any facility on any location, where a program is being conducted. I hereby give permission for the person in charge, to enact the municipal emergency action procedure, including activating the community emergency system, in the event of an accident involving the above-mentioned participant. |
