Adult Beginner Hockey Programs |

Our Adult Beginner Hockey programs will start again this fall. Online program registration is now open. Programming takes place Sundays at the Southampton Coliseum. Adult Beginner Hockey Basics: Fall 2025Whether you are brand new to the game of hockey, or have attended previous adult beginner hockey programs with Bill Buckton, this fall session is for you. This program is for adults with basic skating skills and no or limited hockey experience. Participants will learn the fundamentals of hockey and focus on skill development over the 4-weel session. Fall 2025 session (activity number 25513): Sundays, October 19 to November 9, 8:00 to 8:50am Adult Beginner Pick-Up Hockey (Shinny): FallThis pick-up shinny hockey program is for adults who are at the beginner level of playing. Register online in advance (until 4pm the Friday before), or pay at the door when you arrive. Do you have the basic skills to play organized hockey and would like to further your skills to improve your game? This is a great next step for those that have participated in our adult beginner hockey programs with Bill Buckton. This drop-in program provides the opportunity to get on the ice with other of the same basic skill level. There is no formal instruction. Co-ed for ages 16 and older. Pick-Up Date

Pryde AWC
The Town of Saugeen Shores has built a state-of-the-art Aquatic and Wellness Centre (AWC) that houses an eight-lane pool, warm water leisure pool as well as a fitness and wellness centre, dual indoor gymnasium, and indoor track in addition to multiple multi-use program areas.
With excitement and deep gratitude, the Town of Saugeen Shores is proud to announce that the official name of the new recreation facility is the Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre (Pryde AWC).
The Pryde AWC has something for everyone from drop-in sports to fitness classes, lane swims, aquatic fitness classes, child and youth programs, and a steam room. You are sure to find something that interests you in this state-of-the-art facility!

Program Policies
Programs and Events Photo Consent |

Participants can consent or not consent when registering for programs and events online. I am a consenting adult/legal guardian and hereby authorize the Town of Saugeen Shores to use my and or my dependent(s) name and or image in its public relations and communication materials. I understand that the photograph(s) taken within a year from today’s date during Town programs, events or in Town facilities may be used in a publication, print advertisement, direct-mail pieces, electronic media (e.g., video, website, social media, etc.) or other form of communication. In giving my consent, I hereby release and hold harmless the Town of Saugeen Shores and their agents, employees, officials, representatives and contractors from any and all responsibility or liability for damage of any kind suffered in any manner whatsoever. I hereby relinquish any and all personal or proprietary rights I may have in connection with such use. I understand that I will receive no compensation should any photograph of me and or my dependents be used. |
Refund Policy |
|
Registered Program Refund Policy: The refund policy applies to dryland and aquatic programs operated by the Department of Community Services (Town-operated) and operated by program providers under contract with the Department of Community Services (Town-contracted). If an exception to this policy applies, it will be indicated at the time of registration.
Active Pass / Membership Refund Policy: Refunds or account credits will not be offered to Active Pass holders for facility operations disruptions including but not limited to drop-in program cancellations and facility closures. Active Passes (excluding 10-visit/punch passes) can be canceled at any time before the end of their term without penalty. Should any payments be remaining on an active pass term, remaining payments will be charged at time of cancelation. Refunds will not be issued for any remaining time on the pass, except in cases of valid medical reasons or bereavement. Valid medical reasons include, but are not limited to, serious illness, surgery, or injury requiring extended recovery, and chronic conditions that significantly impair daily activities. If a refund is issued, it will be prorated and subject to a $20.00 administration fee. In the event the refund is less than $20.00, no refund will be issued. In the event of valid medical reason or bereavement, members may wish to put their membership on “pause” for a period of time until normal activities may be resumed. In the event a pause in membership will extend beyond December 31 of the given year, a prorated refund will be issued less a $20.00 administration fee. No refunds will be issued for 10 visit / punch passes. 10 visit / punch passes are not eligible to be put on a “pause” as they do not expire. Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre Drop-in Program Refund Policy: If a drop-in program is canceled or halted due to facility closure or service disruption, single-use drop-in users, day-use users, or punch card users (all non-Active Pass users) will be credited a single-entry admission. This credit can be used for either a drop-in or day-use entry, depending on the original entry method, and must be used within the calendar year. Users wishing to receive a drop-in program cancellation credit must check in with the reception desk prior to leaving the AWC on the date of program disruption. Program cancellation credits hold no cash value. |
Recreation Waiver |

In consideration of myself, my child, or my ward (hereafter referred to as “the participant”) being admitted into Town of Saugeen Shores facilities and/or participating in programs operated by any division under the Department of Community Services, I hereby release the Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores, its contractors, officers, and elected officials from all claims for damages arising from any accident, injury, or loss related to such participation or facility use.
The participant/designate understands and agrees to comply with all facility rules, posted age restrictions, policies, and expectations, including but not limited to swim admission standards, refund policies, facility usage guidelines, nut and allergy awareness policies, and capacity limits.
I authorize the use of the participant’s photo, video, or likeness for municipal and/or promotional purposes. I give permission for authorized municipal staff, officers, or elected officials to enact the Municipality’s Emergency Procedures, policies, and/or Emergency Response Plans, including the Community Emergency Plan, in the event of an injury, accident, or incident involving the participant.
By signing this waiver, I authorize the Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores to automatically withdraw membership/program fees and any associated charges from the account or payment method(s) I have provided. I understand that these payments will occur on a recurring basis and may change in accordance with current rates and fees and/or membership qualifiers. I agree to ensure sufficient funds are available to cover these transactions. I may revoke this authorization at any time by providing written notice to the Community Services department at least 14 business days prior to the next scheduled payment. I acknowledge that failure to maintain valid payment information may result in suspension or termination of membership and/or program participation.
Memberships and enrollments are non-transferable and may only be used by the individual to whom they are issued without prior municipal consent.
