Boards and Committees
Committees, boards and organizations provide valuable input on the development of projects, policies and initiatives in the Town of Saugeen Shores. Volunteers contribute their time, energy and expertise to help improve our community and quality of life.
Applications have closed for the 2025-2026 Committee term. The application pool for ad hoc Committees is open for anyone interested in serving on these limited-time, as needed, Committees.

Committees of Council
Accessibility Advisory Committee |
The role of the Accessibility Advisory Committee is to guide Council on matters related to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Saugeen Shores Accessibility Plan. Airport Committee |
The role of the Airport Committee is to provide direction for the management, maintenance, operation and promotion of the Port Elgin Airport. The Airport Committee shall consist of four (4) volunteer members, plus one (1) Council Member. An alternate member of Council shall also be appointed to fill a vacancy of the Council Representative. Committee of Adjustment |
The Town of Saugeen Shores' Committee of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body appointed by Council under the Planning Act to make decisions on the following planning applications:

MeetingsThe Committee of Adjustment meets on the third Monday of the month at the Town of Saugeen Shores Municipal Office (600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin), as required. If Monday is a holiday, the meeting is held on Tuesday. Find upcoming meetings in our calendar of meetings. Ad Hoc Committees
The Town also has an open application for people interested in serving on ad hoc committees. These are limited-time committees formed on various topics of interest to the municipality.
These topics may include:

- Parks and Trails
- Waterfront
- Recreation
- Strategic Initiatives

The Town creates a mandate if/when it forms these ad hoc committees.
