Commissioning Oaths
A Commissioner of Oaths is available by appointment at the Municipal Office The Commissioner can witness signatures of certain documents. Click here to book an appointment. If you require assistance, please contact our Clerk by email or by phone at 519-832-2008 ext 100.
Requirements
- You have made an appointment with the Commissioner of Oaths.
- Please check your document to determine what type of signature is required. Some documents may require a Notary Public signature rather than a Commissioner of Oaths.
- All parties required to sign the document must be present.
- Please be prepared to provide two pieces of photo identification.
- The Commissioner of Oaths reserves the right to refuse to commission any document.
- Documents in languages other than English can not be commissioned as we can not confirm the information being affirmed.
Fees
The Commissioner of Oaths service fee is $24.12 (plus HST) per document (up to three signatures). Payment can be made using cash, debit, credit or cheque.
Notary Public
Some documents require a Notary Public signature rather than a Commissioner of Oaths. The Municipal Office does not have a Notary Public on staff. Please contact a lawyer if you require a Notary Public.
