Fireworks Permit

The Town of Saugeen Shores regulates and licenses the sale and use of fireworks in the municipality. This is outlined in Fireworks By-law 105-2023

Sale of Fireworks

The sale of fireworks in Saugeen Shores is allowed only on or during the seven days immediately before:

• Victoria Day
• Civic Holiday
• Canada Day
• Labour Day
• Independence Day (USA)
• The first day of Eid al-Fitr
• Chinese New Year's Day

You may not sell fireworks to anyone under the age of 18.

Fireworks Displays

If you plan to display fireworks in a public place, you need to get a licence from the Fire Department.

Fireworks cannot be set off within the travelled portion of any public highway, sidewalk or public park. They may be set off only between dusk and 11 p.m.
