You can find our Southampton Landfill at 140 Concession 14 in Saugeen Shores.

Regular Hours of Operation

Monday - 9:00 am to 4:45 pm
Wednesday - 9:00 am to 4:45 pm
Friday - 9:00 am to 4:45 pm
Saturday - 9:00 am to 3:45 pm

Please arrive at the landfill at least 15 minutes before closing time in order for staff to process your transaction.

Christmas Tree Disposal

Artificial

Artificial Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Southampton Landfill during regular hours of operation.

Artificial Christmas trees fall under the "Domestic Sorted Household" tipping fee category, and are subject to the $10.00 minimum vehicle charge.

Non-Artificial

Non-artificial Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Southampton Landfill during regular hours of operation.

Non-artificial Christmas trees fall under the "Brush" tipping fee category (free disposal under 500lbs).

Tipping Fees

All vehicles will be weighed upon entry and exit of the landfill and the actual fee charged will be on the tipped weight.

Asbestos waste and disposal

We accept asbestos waste at our landfill. The fee for Asbestos is $385.31 per tonne.

You will need is a DSR (Designated Substance Report)

You must call our Public Works staff at 519-832-2008 x130 to notify our landfill operations that you are delivering asbestos waste at least 24 hours before your delivery. Our staff will ask you for how much asbestos you have and arrange a time for arrival.

Our staff have the right to refuse the delivery at their discretion.

Asbestos waste requirements

Asbestos waste being taken to our landfill must be:

In a rigid and sealed container that cannot be easily opened. The container must be strong enough to hold the weight and nature of the waste.
Sealed in a six-millimetre polyethylene bag when placed in a cardboard box.
In a container free from punctures, tears or leaks. No asbestos can lie on the outside of the container.

Any person requesting the Saugeen Shores Landfill Site to be opened on any other hours other than the normal open hours shall make arrangements with the Manager of Public Works and shall pay the above noted fee.

Please note that the Saugeen Shores Landfill site is open to Saugeen Shores residents only. Please have proof of residence ready before entering landfill line.
