Landfill and Tipping Fees

You can find the Southampton Landfill at 140 Concession 14 in Saugeen Shores.  

You can also contact our landfill office during operating hours by calling 519-797-2863.  

Regular Hours of Operation  

Monday - 9:00 am to 4:45 pm 

Wednesday - 9:00 am to 4:45 pm 

Friday - 9:00 am to 4:45 pm 

Saturday - 9:00 am to 3:45 pm 

 

The landfill is only for Saugeen Shores Residents. Please have proof of residency ready when arriving at the landfill. 

To ensure we can process your load, arrive at least 15 minutes before closing. 

Tipping Fees 

All vehicles are weighed in and out. Fees are based on weight, with a $10 minimum charge per vehicle.

Any person requesting the Saugeen Shores Landfill Site to be opened on any other hours other than the normal open hours shall make arrangements with the Manager of Public Works and shall pay the above noted fee.

We accept asbestos waste at our landfill for $396.87 per tonne. 

Requirements: 

  • Must have a Designated Substance Report (DSR). 

  • Call 519-832-2008 x130 at least 24 hours before delivery to notify Public Works and schedule a drop-off 

  • Staff may refuse any delivery at their discretion 

Packaging Guidelines: 

  • Use rigid, sealed containers (no leaks, punctures, or damage) 

  • If using cardboard boxes, asbestos must be in 6-mil polyethylene bags. 

  • No asbestos on the outside of containers. 

Christmas Tree Disposal  

Artificial- Artificial Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Southampton Landfill during regular hours of operation. 

Artificial Christmas trees fall under the "Domestic Sorted Household" tipping fee category and are subject to the $10.00 minimum vehicle charge. 

Non-artificial Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Southampton Landfill during regular hours of operation. 

Non-artificial Christmas trees fall under the "Brush" tipping fee category (free disposal under 500lbs).
