Notice of Public Information Centre: Saugeen Shores Water Treatment Plant Expansion (New Date)

Class Environmental Assessment for the Expansion of the Saugeen Shores Water Treatment Plant

The Town has retained Ainley Group to undertake the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MECA) for the planned Expansion of the Saugeen Shores Water Treatment Plant. The study is being conducted in accordance with the ‘Schedule C’ requirements of the MCEA (as amended in 2024). The study will determine a preferred long-term solution to satisfy the Town’s water supply needs. It will outline a phased approach that leverages existing infrastructure and minimizes costs as the Town prepares for growing water demand.

Public consultation is a key part of the MCEA process. A Public Information Centre (PIC) has been planned to provide an opportunity to review the study background, existing conditions, problems and opportunities and our recommended solution. The PIC will also serve as a forum to receive public feedback, which will be considered as part of the decision-making process.

Location: Southampton Town Hall, 201 High Street
