Notice of Public Meeting - Development Charges

The Council of the Town of Saugeen Shores will hold a public meeting, pursuant to Section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, to present and obtain public input on a Development Charges Background Study and proposed by-law relating to the Town’s Development Charges.

It is proposed that enactment of the Development Charges By-Law will occur after this public meeting at a later date. Development Charges are levied against new development and are the primary source of funding for growth-related capital expenditures.

All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting and any person who attends the meeting may make representation relating to the Development Charges Background Study and the proposed Development Charges By-Law.

Livestream: This meeting will be live streamed by the Town through our YouTube Channel which can be accessed at www.saugeenshores.ca/Meetings.

Copies of the Development Charges Background Study are available at the Town Office at the address shown above and on the municipality’s website. The proposed Development Charges By-Law will be available by April 27th. Interested persons may express their comments at the Public Meeting or in writing, addressed to the Clerk, by email at clerk@saugeenshores.ca or by calling 519-832-2008 prior to the meeting date and time. To participate in the public meeting electronically you must contact the Clerk no later than noon on May 11, 2026.
