Notice of Temporary Closure: Rail Trail at River Street

The Saugeen Rail Trail will be closed at River Street in Port Elgin, beginning September 14, 2026, due to the River Street Reconstruction Project.

While the trail remains open on either side of River Street, no through access will be available. To travel past this section of the Rail Trail, please use Woodland Drive or Elgin Street to exit/enter the trail, and detour along Arlington Street. This closure is expected to last the duration of the project, approximately two months (weather permitting).
