Phase 3: Ivings Drive to Concession 6

Notice of Work: Phase 3 of Goderich St Resurfacing Project

Construction Details

Beginning Monday, April 28, the Contractor will mobilize a secondary crew to complete Phase 3 of the Goderich Street Resurfacing Project. This phase will extend from Ivings Drive to Concession 6 and includes asphalt resurfacing, storm sewer upgrades and water distribution system improvements. This is a deployment of an additional crew and as such does not pull any resources from the critical downtown intersection work.

Schedule and Work Hours

Phase 3 is expected to take approximately three weeks, weather permitting. Work will generally occur Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be no construction on weekends, outside daylight hours, or during statutory holidays. The Contractor will maintain and update a detailed construction schedule, highlighting major project milestones and any schedule changes. Updates will be posted regularly on the Town’s Goderich St Resurfacing project page at www.engage.saugeenshores.ca/GoderichSt.

Traffic, Pedestrian Access & Parking

During Phase 3 of the construction project, traffic flow will be maintained at all times throughout the construction project, with no detours required despite any lane restrictions.

  • April 28 – May 5: The westernmost southbound lane will be closed to traffic.
  • May 6 – May 16: Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction adjacent to the construction zone.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Certain areas may be enclosed using modular safety fencing or barrels to ensure public safety while allowing safe passage.
  • Emergency vehicle access for police, fire, and medical response will be maintained at all times.

Waste Collection

If construction disrupts regular garbage or recycling pickup, the Contractor will transport bins to the ends of the construction zone for collection. To assist in returning bins to the correct properties:

  • Please ensure bins are clearly labeled with your address.
  • Have them placed outside by 7:00 a.m. on collection days.

The Contractor will also coordinate access for private waste collection services, where applicable.

Mail and Deliveries

The Contractor will work directly with affected properties to ensure uninterrupted access for mail and package deliveries throughout the project.
