Removal of Long Dock Pavilion

The Town of Saugeen Shores is advising the public that Long Dock Pavilion (near Front St S and Beach Rd) has been closed and will be removed in the coming weeks, following a structural assessment that deemed the facility unsafe for continued use. 

The pavilion was originally due for roof replacement as part of the 2025 Business Plan. However, initial work raised concerns over extensive internal damage. Work was halted and a structural assessment has since confirmed the damage is beyond feasible repair. 

To prevent further deterioration and to protect both the public and surrounding area, the pavilion has been closed and will be removed promptly. 

The Town recognizes the Long Dock Pavilion is an important and much-loved part of the Southampton Beach and community. A plan for replacement will be brought forward to Council as part of the 2026 Business Plan and Budget.
