Statement from the Town of Saugeen Shores regarding Cedar Crescent Village (CCV) Project

Over the past several years, the Town has cooperated with 2706913 Ontario Inc. to facilitate progress on the construction of Cedar Crescent Village (CCV). This has included the extension of key deadlines. Despite these efforts, the project did not advance as required by the relevant contractual documents, and did not achieve the required February 2, 2026 construction milestone. 

A comprehensive review of the CCV project and its associated agreements has been completed.  Consequently, the Town is now taking steps to assert its rights under the Lease and Site Works & Servicing Agreement, which includes the Town’s right to terminate the Lease. 

The Town recognizes that residents have had a long-standing interest in the status of the Port Elgin waterfront and the CCV project. However, as next steps involve court intervention, the Town is limited in its ability to comment, and no additional details can be provided at this time.
