Cat and Dog Licences

You can register your cat and purchase a cat tag at the Saugeen Shores municipal office, or pre-register online with our Animal Tag Registration Request form. You can also purchase replacement tags for a small fee. A cat tag must be attached to your cat's collar at all times.

If your cat is already registered but you need to update status please fill out our Animal Licence Status Change form.

If you have recently changed your address and need to update your animal licensing account, please fill out the Mailing  Address Change Form.

Please provide your cat’s microchip number at registration, if applicable. You must notify us if there is any change to your cat's information.

Please call the Southampton Pet Hospital at 519-797-2960 and our Animal Control Officer at 519-832-3470 immediately if your cat is missing.

• Cat licence lifetime fee: $75.00
• Animal reclaim fee: $100.00
• Cat - running at large: $100.00
• Cat - failure to licence: $100.00
• Cat - failure to leash: $100.00
• Being the owner - making a false statement: $155.00
• Being the owner - allow animal excrement to cause nuisance: $205.00
• Animal Control Officer fee (during business hours): $80.00
• Animal Control Officer fee (Emergency Calls After Hours): $95.00
• Vet clinic charge - board fees (per day): $10.00

Please call the Southampton Pet Hospital at 519-797-2960 and our Animal Control Officer at 519-832-3470 immediately if your dog is missing. Our officer retrieves missing pets and takes them to the Southampton Pet Hospital.

Licences for kennels are only issued for kennels that are located on property which comply with our comprehensive zoning by-laws. You cannot keep a kennel of dogs in the Town of Saugeen Shores unless you have a currently valid licence. Licences must be renewed annually.
