Neighbourhood Information Session

We are inviting you to attend the Neighbourhood Information Session for the Drummond Drive Reconstruction Project. This meeting will provide an opportunity for the residents to meet the Contractor completing the works, and have any outstanding questions addressed. The information regarding the meeting is as follows:

  • Date: March 31st, 2026
  • Location: Drummond Drive (Bricker Street to Wellington Street). Town and contractor vehicles will be the meeting point.
  • Time: 4:30pm to 5:30pm

Construction Timeline

Construction is scheduled to begin with equipment mobilization near the beginning of April 2026, subject to suitable weather and ground conditions.

Traffic, Pedestrian Access & Parking

During the construction project, local traffic flow will be maintained throughout the construction project, where possible.

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Certain areas may be enclosed using modular safety fencing or barrels to ensure public safety while allowing safe passage.
  • Emergency vehicle access for police, fire, and medical response will be maintained at all times.

Road Closures

Drummond Drive will be closed to through traffic during underground infrastructure work. Local access will be maintained for residents within the construction zone.

Tree and Hedge Removal

Where necessary, trees and cedar hedges will be trimmed or removed to facilitate construction. The Town will avoid tree removal wherever possible. Replacement trees will be planted and affected property owners will be contacted to discuss suitable locations for replanting.

Encroachments on Municipal Property

If you have encroachments on municipal property (e.g. sprinkler systems, lights, planters, flower beds, rocks), please either remove or clearly mark them. While the Contractor will make best efforts to avoid them, the Town is not responsible for any damage to such items located within the municipal right-of-way or near the work zone.

Waste Collection

If construction disrupts regular garbage or recycling pickup, the Contractor will transport bins to the ends of the construction zone for collection.
To assist in returning bins to the correct properties:

  • Please ensure bins are clearly labeled with your address.
  • Have them placed outside by 7:00 a.m. on collection days.

Mail and Deliveries

The Contractor will work directly with affected properties to ensure uninterrupted access for mail and package deliveries throughout the project.

Temporary Water Services

Temporary above-ground waterlines will be installed during construction. These may cross driveways, and in such cases, protective mounds may be used. The Contractor will minimize disruption where possible.

Water Service Interruptions

Brief water service interruptions may occur during reconnections. You will be notified in advance of any planned outages. In the event of unexpected issues (e.g. a watermain break), service will be restored as soon as possible.

Special Events or Needs

If you have a special event planned or require specific accommodations during construction, please contact the Town Office well in advance. Every effort will be made to coordinate and minimize disruptions.
