You’re invited: Public Meeting to consider Local Official Plan Amendment File L-2026-008 and Community Planning Permit By-law File Z-2026-038. The purpose of the proposed Community Planning Permit (CPP) By-law is to create a comprehensive set of development regulations for the downtown areas of Port Elgin and Southampton that align with the vision and objectives of the Official Plan, support mixed-use development, and help to address housing needs.

The Town of Saugeen Shores is pleased to announce that Rob Atkinson has accepted the role of Director, Fire Services/Fire Chief. The Town extends its congratulations and appreciation to Chief Ed Melanson, who will be leaving the Town of Saugeen Shores to join the City of Niagara Falls.

This day offers an opportunity to reflect on the enduring presence of Indigenous communities, and to appreciate the knowledge, traditions, and perspectives that continue to shape our country. 

The Town of Saugeen Shores proudly marked the beginning of Pride Month with a Pride Flag Raising event held on June 1, 2026, at the Municipal Office. The event brought together Council, Town staff, community partners, and residents in a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and community vibrancy. 

The Town of Saugeen Shores is pleased to announce the execution of a four-year Infrastructure and Community Readiness Assessment Agreement with Bruce Power. Through the Agreement, the Town will receive $2 million in funding to enable municipal strategic planning and readiness assessment in preparation for the impacts of the Bruce C project.
