The Town of Saugeen Shores has updated their Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan for the communities of Port Elgin and Southampton.
At its meeting on December 8, Saugeen Shores Council voted to amend the 2026 Business Plan, transferring $470,000 from the Tax Stabilization Reserve to reduce the proposed tax increase from 2.2% to 0.6%, excluding police. This adjustment reflects Council’s recognition of the financial pressures facing residents and aims to provide temporary relief from rising everyday expenses.
On December 6, we come together to honor the memory of the 14 women whose lives were tragically taken at Polytechnique Montréal in 1989. Their loss remains a powerful reminder of the devastating impact of gender-based violence and the urgent need for change.
The Town of Saugeen Shores congratulates Mayor Luke Charbonneau on being acclaimed as Bruce County’s Warden for 2025-2026 term at the Inaugural Council Meeting held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Walkerton.
Following Business Plan meetings held on November 12 and 26, Council has voted in favour of the 2026 Business Plan. The amended 2026 Plan includes an inflationary 2.2% levy increase to support municipal operations, excluding Police.
The Town of Saugeen Shores is proud to announce a generous $50,000 contribution from Mike and Eleanor Mowbray of Canadian Tire Port Elgin in support of the new Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre (AWC). This donation will be recognized through the sponsorship of the gymnasium scoreboards.
