Port Elgin Main Beach, Southampton Beach posted unsafe for swimming
Grey Bruce Public Health has posted Port Elgin Main Beach and Southampton Beach as unsafe for swimming after water-sampling results showed bacterial levels exceeding Ontario Ministry of Health standards.

Due to inclement weather and road closures, the Saugeen Shores Council meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today, January 27, will now be held virtually.
Representatives from the Town of Saugeen Shores are currently in Toronto, attending the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) conference and meeting with provincial leaders on several key priorities for the municipality.
The Town of Saugeen Shores intends to designate 34 Victoria Street North, Southampton further described as TP Lot 3 Pt Lot 2 West Victoria, as a Heritage Property under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act.
