  • Town of Saugeen Shores Endorses Memorandum of Understanding for the Bruce C Nuclear Project

    The Town of Saugeen Shores has endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to guide cooperation between the Municipality of Kincardine, the Town of Saugeen Shores, and Bruce County to support the municipal participation in the federal Integrated Impact Assessment (IA) for the Bruce C Nuclear project (the project). 

  • Notice of Public Information Centre: Saugeen Shores Water Treatment Plant Expansion Class EA

    The Town has retained Ainley Group to undertake the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MECA) for the planned Expansion of the Saugeen Shores Water Treatment Plant. The study is being conducted in accordance with the ‘Schedule C’ requirements of the MCEA (as amended in 2024). The study will determine a preferred long-term solution to satisfy the Town’s water supply needs. It will outline a phased approach that leverages existing infrastructure and minimizes costs as the Town prepares for growing water demand.

  • Notice of Public Information Centre: Two-Zone Floodplain Management Concept

    The Town of Saugeen Shores is proposing to amend the Local Official Plan and Zoning By-law to implement a Two-Zone Floodplain Management Concept for certain lands within the geographic Town of Southampton. The lands subject to the proposed amendments are shown on the map below. A Public Information Centre (PIC) is being held to share the preliminary details of the project.

  • Pryde AWC Celebrates Milestone with First Active Pass Sold

    The Town of Saugeen Shores is thrilled to announce the official sale of its very first Active Pass for the Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre, marking a major milestone in the journey toward community wellness and active living. 

  • Saugeen Shores transitioning to Ontario's curbside Blue Box program

    Starting January 1, 2026, the Town of Saugeen Shores will transition to Ontario’s curbside Blue Box program. Under this provincial model, the Town will no longer manage curbside recycling, but residents will benefit from being able to recycle more than ever! 

  • Centennial Pool to be Repurposed by School Board

    As construction of the new Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre (AWC) nears completion, plans for the future of the existing Centennial Pool are underway. On October 27, Town Council authorized moving forward a Purchase and Sale Agreement with the Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) for the Centennial Pool facility, attached to Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS). The School Board intends to purchase and repurpose the pool space. 

  • New By-laws Protect Trees in Saugeen Shores

    Saugeen Shores has officially adopted two key by-laws aimed at protecting and enhancing the community’s urban forest: the Tree Protection on Town-Owned Property By-law and the Urban Tree Conservation By-law. Together, these by-laws reinforce the municipality’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible growth. 

  • Notice of Public Information Centre: Turner Street Intersection Improvements

    The Town of Saugeen Shores has retained GEI Consultants Canada Limited to provide engineering design services for the planned Highway 21 at Turner Street (Bruce County Road 13) Intersection Improvements Project.

    The Town will be hosting an in-person Public Information Centre (PIC) to share details of the proposed design and gather feedback from the community.
